In June, the 6th grade students visited the
Amalia Lacroze de Fortabat Art Collection Museum located in Puerto Madero as
part of the project work “Made in Argentina” in the context of our Art
Workshop, which took place during the first and second terms of the year.
The students were shown the room where
Argentine artists’ artworks are displayed. We were able to see some of the
pieces we worked on in the workshop, such as: “The lunch” or “A Sunday on the
farm”, “La Difunta Correa” and “Juanito flying a kite” (from the series
“Juanito Laguna”) by Antonio Berni, “Dolphins” and “Green Venice” by Nicolás
García Uriburu, “Composition in blue and green” by Eduardo Mac Entyre, “Among
Peach trees” by Fernando Fader; and “Port of La Boca” and “A rosy moment”, by
Benito Quinquela Martín.
We were accompanied by a specialized art
guide, who explained the artworks and interacted with the students in a way
which encouraged them to compare and contrast paintings and styles, to show
everything they had learnt and to express their opinions enthusiastically.
This has been a very enriching experience and
the perfect closure of our first workshop of the year!
