This year 5th form students learnt about
different art movements in the classroom like realistic and abstract art, cubism and fauvism. We’ve also been learning about the famous artists who started these
movements, such as Wassily
Kandinsky, Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí and
Henri Matisse.
Students felt inspired by them and became interested in their styles and techniques. They had fun while making different shapes, playing with colours, using their imagination and expressing themselves. They did different activities to learn about these important artists, the use of colours and many types of artworks. They even created their own artworks!
At the end of the workshop, the students were introduced to Alejandro Schulz Solari, known as Xul Solar, an abstract artist from Argentina.
Finally, the students visited the museum
"Xul Solar", where they saw the different paintings by this amazing
artist, and continued learning about his life.
Here are some of the students’ pictures: We’re all artists!
Before returning to school, the guide
answered all the questions from the students. They all had a great time!
Look at this wonderful video of the visit to the museum: enjoy it!
